An international conference on the theme “FRONTIERS OF PROGRESS AND DEVELOPMENTS IN TECHNOLOGY, MANAGEMENT, AND HEALTHCARE IN THE MODERN ERA” is being organized by The Institution of Engineers (India) and hosted by its Jabalpur Local Centre in association with Shri Ram Group Jabalpur during 27-28 SEPTEMBER 2024.
The Institution of Engineers (India) (IEI) is a renowned professional body of engineers, established in 1920 and incorporated in 1935. It functions among professional engineers, academicians, and researchers, providing technical, professional, and supporting services to government, industry, academicians, and the engineering fraternity through its 125 centers across India and six overseas chapters in Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Kuwait, Qatar, and Nepal. IEI has collaborated with several reputable engineering professional organizations, including CEAI, WEC-IMC, IETE, CSI, CIPS, and ISTE. It is also a member of several world bodies, including WFEO, FIEB, FEISCA, FEIAP, and CEC. IEI maintains close relations with these bodies through active participation in their meetings and conferences worldwide. It is a member of several international bodies, such as WFEO, FIEB, FEISCA, FEIAP, and CEC. The Institution of Engineers (India) is a Full Member of the International Professional Engineers Agreement (IPEA), one of six international agreements of the International Engineering Alliance (IEA). This allows IEI to create and maintain the India Section of the Register of International Professional Engineers – IntPE (India). After the reorganization of the States from 1st November 1956, Mahakoushal region (which was under the Madhya Pradesh Centre at Nagpur) was merged to Madhya Bharat and Vindhya Pradesh regions to form the new state of Madhya Pradesh and districts of Nagpur and Berar, merged into the new Bombay state. Due to this political reorganization and the residence of a very large number of members of the Institution of Engineers (India) employed in state and central Government Departments industrial organizations, etc. in new states there was a strong demand from members of the Institution of Engineers (India) of all categories for a center in new Madhya Pradesh itself. This demand was put forward to the Center’s Reorganization Committee appointed by the Council of Institution of Engineers (India) by Principal Shri S. P. Chakravarti, MIE, when he was the Chairman of Madhya Pradesh Centre at Nagpur during 1956-57 with his suggestions that the new Madhya Pradesh must have its own Center and the President M. P. Centre at Nagpur should be renamed as Nagpur Center. The Center reorganization committee decided that the Center of new M. P. should be either at Jabalpur or Bhopal. As the number of members residing in Jabalpur region was the largest and the consent was taken from all members of M P State. Finally, it was ultimately decided by the President in January 1959 to have the new Madhya Pradesh Centre at Jabalpur.
The group is headed by renowned Electronics Scientist & Educationist Dr. S.P. Kosta (Ph.D. Comm. Engg., Recipient of Aryabhatt Award, Ex. Director of ISRO Bangalore and Ex. Vice Chancellor, R.D.V.V. Jabalpur). It came into existence in 2001. It encompasses various colleges of professional education such as SRIT, SRIST and SRGI Engineering colleges, SRIT (Pharmacy), SRIP and SRGI (Pharmacy), SRIT Diploma Pharmacy, SRIT (MCA) college, SRCC, SRIL and Shri Ram Institute of Management. Presently Shri Ram Group Jabalpur is the largest educational organization in Mahakaushal region. It has a strength of about 15000 students pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate programs in various disciplines.
